OCTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Hello my DAISY LIST readers,

Once I overcame Breast Cancer, I wasn’t afraid of ANYTHING ANYMORE.”

                                                                                                                                                  Melissa Etheridge

For this Post, I wanted to share some positive and uplifting words about BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month.  I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate than this story.

In a previous post, Post 2017-21, I told you about Mizzouri as a Thriving Survivor.  On October 5, 2019, I attended her production of STYLETAINMENT the Show, A Cancer Survivor’s Story.  The Show is based on her journey through and then surviving Breast Cancer.

This was Mizzouri’s 7th presentation of the show, and I have to declare that it is now BROADWAY READY!

Being self-employed, during her cancer battle Mizzouri became practically homeless. However total strangers stepped in, and became her advocates in EVERY way possible.  Housing, finances, transportation, but most of all tender loving health care.  During that time, she spent hours contemplating how to give back.

Mizzouri understood the care and comfort she was receiving was a major factor in her recovery.  She vowed to find a way to give back.  It was at that time that 2 Dreams began to formulate.

First was to get well and use her God given talent to robustly pursue her long-standing Dream of producing a unique Broadway show of the ARTS that includes; song, dance, fashion and storytelling.

The second part of her dream was to find a way to start a project called

“A PLACE CALLED HOME” – APCH

This project would become her “give back”

For Mizzouri, STYLETAINMENT is a means to an end.  She wants her story to inspire HOPE, and motivate others to hang onto the belief that GREAT things can happen post Cancer.

She has a never give up attitude but it requires an enormous amount of faith.  She’s clearly doing what she loves, however she wants it to reach millions of people going through similar struggles, so they can understand that battling cancer is by no means the end.

Never give up on something that you can’t

go a day without thinking about.

Although the Show is available for private bookings, every year Mizzouri schedules a Special production in New Jersey for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  For that show in particular she makes an effort to honor other breast Cancer Survivors.

She provides a separate room with refreshments for Honoree’s and their families to gather and meet other Breast Cancer survivors.  Mizzouri also provides VIP seating and gives them an opportunity and a platform to tell their story.  All of the honorees have expressed sincere gratefulness and told her those moments were life altering for them.

The face of someone that understands the need to promote

Breast Cancer Awareness

I’m hoping by now everyone on the planet knows OCTOBER is

Breast Cancer Awareness month

I’m hoping in the next few years we can change it to

Breast Cancer Eradication month
